House-elves Connection

I don't like how house-elves react to the word "freedom". When Harry found Winky the house-elf she told him that she knew Dobby. Harry asked how he's been doing and she told him that his behavior changed a lot after Harry set him free from the Malfoys. Winky told Harry that Dobby wanted to work only if he was going to get paid. She said that that was wrong and that house-elves should be servants to their masters. She said that Dobby should settle in a house with good masters and obey to their decisions. She said that he shouldn't dream high and she was horrified with the idea of freedom. She may also have seemed a bit angry with Dobby even if they were friends. She stated that house-elves are not supposed to have fun and they should do what they are told to do.
I think they shouldn't believe that. They should have as much fun as they want, be free and get paid for all the work they do. They should be able to say their opinion without having someone torturing them or saying that it's not right. They look horrified when they hear the word "freedom" and that's not right. They should get excited and have hope. House-elves should be treated as equally as everyone else and have a nice life. If someone wants to be a master to an elf and be a good one they should act like one. They should pay the elf, let it have some time to rest, treat it like family and not torture it like the Malfoys did to Dobby...
